Hawkins Heroes Fundraiser

Merrisa Garrod, daughter of Michael Hawkins, has organized an online silent auction to support the mental health and wellness of our first responders.

My father, Michael Hawkins, spent his whole life serving others as a paramedic while also struggling with mental health. He lost his battle and ultimately took his life last February. My dad was always helping others, and now it’s our turn to do so in his memory!

This event will be in honor of him, and bidding will start on his birthday (2/17) and end on the day he passed (2/25). All of the proceeds will be donated to Revital Colorado. These funds will be used to take a proactive approach on mental health.

There are so many amazing items (seriously something for everyone to bid on), which have been donated to help raise funds. Please check out the items and consider bidding, making a monetary donation or share on social media with others who might want to support this cause. With your help, we can truly make an impact.

Couples Dinner & Live Theater

Couples Dinner & Live Theater

Coal Creek Theater of Louisville is an all-volunteer company that has been producing high quality live theater for over 30 seasons. Join other first responder couples for a delicious dinner and front row seats to a live theater play of Becky’s New Car. We were invited by Brighton Police Officer, J.C. Reyes, who is cast in the play and has been using theater as his outlet to help in his mental health journey for the past few years. This outing will be hosted by Kat & Andy.

Description of the play - Have you ever been tempted to flee your own life? Becky Foster is caught in middle age, middle management and in a middling marriage—with no prospects for change on the horizon. Then one night a socially inept and grief-struck millionaire stumbles into the car dealership where Becky works. Becky is offered nothing short of a new life…and the audience is offered a chance to ride shotgun in a way that most plays wouldn’t dare. BECKY’S NEW CAR is a thoroughly original comedy with serious overtones, a devious and delightful romp down the road not taken.
